| A Cut Above |
 | | | Wednesday, February 01, 2006 | | | Margie Jacinto | | | FrontDesk | | | | | IF YOU DIDN'T SEE THE WORD "SALON" on Cedar Springs' Salon Three Thirty, you could easily mistake it for an art gallery. Its minimalist architecture paired with art from the Goss Gallery next door exudes sophistication. But within the this stylish space, Owners Peg Cribari, Yancy Smith and Eric Culbertson cut and color with the surgeon-like precision and fashion-forward expertise. Collectively, the group has had over 50 years of experience. Cribari and Smith initially worked together at the Roger Thompson salon at Barney's that once stood in NorthPark Center. Culbertson joined the rwo when they opened their own venue at the original Herschel Ave. locale several years ago. Each of them has their own style, for example, Cribaris known to be a 'micro-cutter,' in the sense that every strand is accounted for, which is why a blunt cut takes an hour. And it's worth the wait. Besides, downtime at Three Thirty is a pleasant experience. If you crave a bite to eat while waiting for your color to seep in, neighboring restaurant Standard has their lunch selections at your disposal, waiting to be delivered-utensils and all. And feel free to check out the revolving pieces of art, which are for sale. Other services they offer include thermal straightening, makeup application and Kerastase conditioning treatments. How's that for full service? | | | | | | | |
